Trip to Trujillo crossing Monfragüe National Park.
In this route we´ll enjoy the Monfragüe National Park and one of the most beautiful villages of Spain: Trujillo. We will lower the car for the first time in the small town of Villarreal de San Carlos which is the nerve center of the park. We visit the Interpretation Center. To Villarreal, we will have arrived by road through Torrejón reservoir for a chance to see the beauty of the meadows of cork trees and all kinds of birds and wildlife.
In addition, we´ll have stopped at the "La Herguijuela" to visit the remains of the cork tree known as "The Grandfather". We´ll Undertake a walking route that takes us to the castle across the bridge of the cardinal and the mountains of corchuelas. On this tour we will have opportunity to place ourselves under the canopy of one of the larger sized hackberries of Extremadura, the hackberry "de Lugar Nuevo". From the castle we´ll enjoy breathtaking views and we´ll admire the elegant flight of vultures.
We´ll descend the road and we´ll enter the cave to see cave paintings from 1600 BC. Before returning to hop on the car we can approach the famous "Jump of the Gipsy". We will eat in a Restaurant in Trujillo where we´ll visit the main square, perhaps the most beautiful of Extremadura, and go down the meal with a quiet ascent to the castle. We´ll walk through this beautiful town full of palaces and churches. We´ll visit museums like the house of Pizarro or the museum of wine and cheese.
