IDEAL FOR SPRING ROUTES
In this beautiful season, any of our routes can be recommended. Extremadura has the virtue of being different in every season and may be the spring when it´s prettier, but we are many who defend the autumn as the ideal season to come and meet us.
Grain fields and pastures of our meadows are growing and Jerte Valley will be donning white in bloom over two million cherry trees. The gorges are displayed wild with a tumultuous flow from snowmelt and rain, waterfalls are at their best, with permission from early summer when in addition to enjoy the view, can enjoy genuine whirlpool baths.
The deciduous forest awakens from its slumber by which it can overcome the winter and is recovering its lush beauty. The steppes of Serena and the Plains will be filled with flowers showing its colors and advertising next delights in cheese that we´ll eat, the best of the year. Gradually they will arrive even more birds bring color and good music to our stay in the Extremadura countryside. Spring is one of the best seasons for any of the environmental cruises on offer in the Tagus International Natural Park. We also take you to the stunning Douro Arribes you to discover and enjoy its landscape from a scenic boat.
Among the most colorful festivals and celebrations are the Holy Week in Cáceres, Badajoz, Mérida, Jerez de los Caballeros, Valverde de la Vera (The Empalaos) Living Passion Oliva de la Frontera, the Chíviri of Trujillo, La Carrerita of Villanueva de la Serena, the Racing in Arroyo de la Luz and the pilgrimage of the Virgin of Piedra Escrita Belltower and the Pilgrimage of San Isidro Labrador in Valencia de Alcántara.
In winter we can take you skiing to the Covatilla, in Béjar and arrange a good food to regain strength. You will thrill the spectacle of the frozen waterfall in Gasco and in the Francia mountains and Gredos will have occasion to photograph mountain goats.
It will be a very appropriate time for visiting our World Heritage City: Cáceres: Cáceres, and the Historical Towns of Trujillo, Guadalupe, Coria, Galisteo, Plasencia, Hervás, San Martín de Trevejo, Robledillo de Gata, Gata, Granadilla, Garganta la Olla, Villanueva y Valverde de la Vera, Cuacos de Yuste, Pasarón de la Vera, Alvántara, Valencia de Alcántara, Cabezuela del Valle and many more.
You can also live some of the oldest and most important festivals of the region as the "Jarramplas" in Piornal the "Carantoñas" of Acehúche the "Encamisá" in Navalvillar de Pela, the "Negritos" in Montehermoso, "Candelas" in Almendralejo the "Peropalo" in Villanueva de la Vera Carnivals of Navalmoral de la Mata and Badajoz.
Deciduous forests presented a gloomy picture but the meadow is white with frost in the morning mist at sunrise emerge from the soil, streams and brooks flow rabid ... a show that hunters know well. We can mediate different hunting holdings if what you like is hunting. In our pine forests may remain some milk caps to throw in a saucepan. In St. Blas (3 February) you´ll see storks. They are legion in Extremadura, they come for breeding. In early March will have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacle of the Almond Blossom in Garovillas lands. All this and much more.
Another attraction that perhaps you haven´t lived is the desembalse in any of the impressive dams that contributes to become Extremadura in the region with the most kilometers of coastline in Spain, sweet coastline, of course.
IDEAL FOR AUTUMN ROUTES
Any of our tours can be enjoyed in autumn, but those that develop between deciduous forests are spectacular. They are also very appropriate for this season routes that crosses meadows visited by large flocks of cranes and skies of wood pigeons, sunsets with the sound of bellowing of deers and the occasional mycological surprise under monumental oaks and cork trees.
The autumn rains quench the thirst of Extremadura fields and mountain waterfalls show again its hydraulic power. The change experienced throughout Extremadura in autumn is deep, vigorous growth of grasses emerge from the mushrooms and asparagus, but also languid in the lulling of mysterious for its light, magical whole deciduous trees.
In the cultural field are many offers. Examples are the "Magic Autumn in Ambroz Valley", The International Festival of Contemporary Dance and Theater of Badajoz or Cáceres, where the Great Theater always triumphs with its autumn bid.
Among the popular festivals, we can live the Feast of Hispanidad in Guadalupe, "Escobazos" in Jarandilla or "Encamisá" of Torrejoncillo.
