From Portezuelo to Cañaveral ascending the "Silleta" Mount.
This route runs, first, through the Valdecocos Valley from the castle of Marmionda of past Visigothic, Almohad and Templar, in Portezuelo. We will see an old abandoned factory of rovings and we´ll enjoy a beautiful landscape of meadows and pine forest where it is not difficult to trip over a deer. From the abandoned factory we´ll climb up the Mount known as "de la Silleta", where we can enjoy breathtaking views of the Alagón Valley and Cáceres Plains.
We´ll Distinguish the towns known as "the four places", (Hinojal, Talaván, Santiago del Campo and Monroy). From there we will go down to the core of The Arc, part of Cañaveral and is almost uninhabited. We will see its simple but beautiful chapel, walk through its two or three streets and see the dead trunk of what was an impressive elm. Finally, we go down to the population of Cañaveral and tour its main square and streets with houses and churches of great beauty.
