From Plasencia to Cabezabellosa through St. Polo Glen.

The walking tour begins at the Plasencia dam, on Jerte River. From there we will walk 13 km to Cabezabellosa, first by St. Polo glen and later by the way of Merinas. Therefore we´ll see different elements of the cattle trails so our guide will address your questions and explain the trashumance: its history, culture, economy and ecology. In this beautiful journey we´ll frequently pass near livestock species (cattle, pigs, horses, sheep)
so we will be very careful and respectful. Also we should see some of the birds that give importance to the Protected Landscape "Mount Valcorchero" very close. Once in Cabezabellosa, a car will return us to Plasencia and before that we´ll stop for seeing the impressive oak kown as "Acarreadero". It is possible to conclude the day with a barbecue at "San Polo".
