The first stop on this tour to the historic towns of Béjar and Francia Mountains is in Béjar to admire the Renaissance Garden named "The Forest" created by the Dukes of Zuñiga in the XVI century. One of its attractions is the Sequoia, a young lady of 140 years. We´ll visit the city and then depart for the medieval town of "Miranda del Castañar", historical place of Counts of "Miranda" with a well-preserved medieval
ambient. Then we´ll go to "Sequeros" to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Béjar Mountains and France Mountains that make this route special in any time of year, especially in Autumn. The following historic towns are "San Martin del Castañar" and "La Alberca". The latter is one of the most beautiful villages of our country and has some nice traditions that we´ll learn. From there depart to "Mogarraz" which like the rest of zone has a beautifully preserved architecture. In the way to "Monforte de la Sierra"
we´ll stop to admire the mighty Oak of the Prairie and in "Herguijuela de la Sierra" we´ll do another short walk to the place where a European Beech lives, the one who lives most southern. We´ll lunch in the Castle of "Montemayor del Río" that is also a Restaurant, we´ll eat typical local dishes and after that we´ll start the return to "Plasencia" through a beautiful road down to "El Cerro" and after to "Valdelamatanza". Almost in "Aldeanueva del Camino" we´ll still observe another mighty tree: the tremendous Cork Tree of "La Fresneda".
