Ancient trees in Casas del Castañar and Barrado.
In the Meson of "Tio Antonio", in Casas del Castañar, we shall have coffee to give us energy for an easy route of great beauty, although with a section of certain slope. From there we´ll will take to see the chestnut named "Escondelobos", a little later the chestnut of source "Escobachas" and following the route, the chestnuts of "Realengo", all of them impressive old trees. We´ll cross the Port of San Bernabé where we will change the Jerte Valley by Tiétar Valley.
Once we cross a small stretch without roads or paths, between oaks, we´ll find a comfortable and easy road: the way of Solana. We´ll enjoy beautiful views on the  Tiétar Valley and finally arrive at unique tree known as the Great Oak of Solana that is not the oldest in the area but also one of the most beautiful. The harmony of the cup is spectacular. We will return Plasencia passing by the town of Gargüera that has a beautiful church (Our Lady of Assumption) and an beautiful oak meadow.
