Cáceres: World Heritage City.
Storks Palace and St Francisco Church in Caceres World Heritege City
Caceres was first declared National Monument (1949), Third European Monumental and World Heritage City (1986). On this tour we will enjoy the winding, steep, narrow streets around the parishes of St. María and St. Mateo. Here are erected many palaces and fortified houses. Gorgeous is the House "del Sol" and "Golfines" Palace and the Tower "de las Cigüeñas" to name a few corners. We´ll enter the basement of the Palace of "Las Veletas"
where there is a jewel that left the Almohads: the cistern. We will see the evolution of the wall, with Roman and Almohad past. We´ll stroll through the old Jewish quarter, after expulsion called St. Antonio neighborhood. We will visit the co-Cathedral of St. Maria, Santiago square, the main square and its beautiful places like Bujaco Tower and the Arc of the Star that connects to the historic area. We´ll lunch in a restaurant.
