It is true that in Cadalso is the House of Alfonso XI the King that he used when he came to these mountains to hunt bears. Notable among its buildings is the Church of the Immaculate Conception. From this beautiful village weŽll depart to Villanueva de la Sierra, the last stop on this tour, where weŽll admire the unique tree "DuranŽs Magnolia".
First enjoy one of the most beautiful villages of the Sierra de Gata, not for nothing Gata is considered Historical. After admiring the beauty of its streets, squares and houses, weŽll approach the singular tree named Cedar of Gata. Then weŽll take the walk up the road up to the Almenara Tower. About 2.5 Km away in the road between Gata and Don Miguel where is the intersection with the way to Almenara tower. The climb to the tower is a demanding path, especially in the final stretch where weŽll overcome a height
difference of 300 mts. in 3.5 Km. After taking the "taco" in this place, weŽll start our way down to the point of collection of the vehicle. On the way back we pass Torre de Don Miguel, nice town that we had been watching from the tower. If the group is small and therefore the vehicle also, weŽll go to Cadalso through the small road that links it directly to Torre de Don Miguel, if not, weŽll have to take a short detour. Legend has it that Cadalso is so named because it was the place where they hanged the Moors and other legend says that here , the King used to meet his mistress Mrs Leonor de Guzman before leaving for the Battle of Salado.
